Chinese New Year 2009 (Year of the Ox)
Life Intelligence University International (LIU International) is excited to celebrate the 2009 Chinese New Year (Year of the Ox) by presenting good will oriental health programs to the community. The LIU International will open his first public free class right after the celebration.
This year of the Ox is an Obstinate Year. Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality. Those born in ox years tend to be painters, engineers, and architects. They are stable, fearless, obstinate, hard-working and friendly. Jack Nicholson, Jane Fonda, Walt Disney, and Anthony Hopkins were all born in the year of the ox.
Like the Ox, LIU International’s main principle is to strive for harmony among all peoples. We are committed to helping people develop and sustain healthy bodies and healthy minds so that they can be hard-working and fearlessly pursue their dreams of life with integrity and character. LIU International helps each individual in the community to gain self-confidence and discipline, respect and honor through Kung Fu and Tai Chi training while being mindful of natural holistic nutrition. This year we have specially designed programs to educate children and adults alike with traditional Shaolin principles, personal ethics and family focus. LIU International has helped thousands of people to gain good health and fitness and to get their life back in shape mentally, emotionally and physically. You can too.
Chinese New Year 2009 falls on the 26th of January, 2009. The Chinese New Year is celebrated as the symbol of spring’s celebration, in fact, called the spring festival. It is celebrated after the fall harvest and before the spring planting season. The date of the Chinese New Year is always changing and is dependant on the Chinese calendar, invented by Emperor Huangdi in the year 2637 B.C.E.
To celebrate, LIU International will be giving a healthy gift to the community by hosting public Kungfu demonstration, kids Kungfu animal inner strength class for kids and a health, stress release seminar for adults on Jan. 25th from 2:00 PM-5PM. Children from 6-15 years old will be able to learn what it takes to be a confident Shaolin Warrior with respect, discipline, integrity, and strong outstanding character. They will be taught the basics of focus, tolerance, and preserver with life like tiger or crane. They will have a chance to win a scholarship up to 6 month tuition free to study at the LIU International, Atlanta. Their parents must be present.
All folks who have won scholarships at our previous international events can register for classes after the celebration ceremony.
All participation is free. They are welcome to donate any amount to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. We will have St. Jude donation envelope which can be filled out by the parents.
